DC Comics has claimed the top six titles in Diamond's October 2009 direct market comic book sales chart, narrowing the market share between itself and industry leader Marvel.

DC's market share stands at 37.69% unit share and 33.82% dollar share, compared to Marvel's 40.12% and 36.50% respectively.

DC claimed the first six spots in the top 300 with Blackest Night #4, Batman and Robin #5, Green Lantern #47, Blackest Night: Batman #3, Green Lantern Corps #41 and Blackest Night: Superman #3.

According to The Comichron, DC has not enjoyed this level of success since 1968.

Marvel's top selling comic was New Avengers #58 in seventh place. Notably, the chart topping Captain America: Reborn miniseries did not have an issue released in October.

Marvel's Wolverine: Old Man Logan hardcover was the bestselling graphic novel in October, with DC/Vertigo's Jack of Fables volume six in second position.
