Comics creator Rob Liefeld has revealed that New Moon director Chris Weitz previously drafted a script of a Badrock movie.
Liefeld - one of the founders of Image Comics and the creator of the Badrock character - announced the connection on Twitter.
"Trying the Twilight saga for the first time tomorrow," he wrote. "Looks good. Little known fact: director Chris Weitz wrote unproduced Badrock film 1996."
New Line's project was abandoned after it was decided that the film would cost too much.
Badrock - a character from Liefeld's Youngblood comic - is a teenage boy who is transformed into a granite-like monster after interfering with one of his father's genetic experiments.
Director Brett Ratner is currently working on a Youngblood movie adaptation with Reliance Big Entertainment.
Ratner has expressed an interest in seeing New Moon's Robert Pattinson in the lead role.
