Published Saturday, Nov 28 2009, 07:50 GMT | By Mark Langshaw

The issue will serve as a prequel to the highly-anticipated 'Siege' event, which is said to have major ramifications for the Marvel Universe. Its plot sees the alliance of villains known as the Cabal come to an end, as Doctor Doom and Norman Osborn do battle with one another.
"Remember when you were first introduced to the Cabal, the gathering of the most sinister members of the Marvel Universe, and you said to yourself: 'Well, that's going to blow up in everyone's face'. Well, you were right and it happens right here. Norman Osborn faces off with Doctor Doom and his mysterious threat to Doom is revealed. All of this is setting the stage for next month's explosive event: 'Siege'," read Marvel's synopsis for the comic.
Interior artwork on the book is provided by Michael Lark and Stefano Gaudiano. David Finch contributed a cover illustration. Five-time Eisner Award winner Brain Michael Bendis wrote the issue.
The Siege: The Cabal #1 is available in stores on December 3.
