IDW to publish 'Eternal Descent'
Published Thursday, Dec 3 2009, 07:24 GMT | By Mark Langshaw

Originally conceived as a multimedia concept, the book is a "classic struggle between good and evil", featuring cameos from several high-profile metal musicians.
"It's been a long time coming, but thanks to IDW and Kris Oprisko, who understood the concept right away, (being an experienced writer, publisher, and bass guitarist on the side), we'll be seeing Eternal Descent in stores around the world very soon," said Leon.
"Putting this book together has been a riot. Working with some of the most talented heavy metal players out there is an endless source of inspiration and a lot of laughs. Creating the world where my original characters could interact with iconic players like Gus G and Wayne Static was a tough balancing act, but when you see these guys torching zombies and feeding off power lines, I hope you'll agree we got it just right."
Metal bands including God Forbid, Atreyu, Firewind and Static X will appear in the series from issue #2 onwards. Each book will also include interviews with the featured acts.
Eternal Descent #1 is released in March 2010.
