Marvel, Disney set merger date
Published Thursday, Dec 3 2009, 09:06 GMT | By Hugh Armitage

On December 31, Marvel stockholders will meet to vote on the $4 billion (£2.4 billion) deal.
Should the vote pass, Marvel will begin 2010 as a part of Disney.
The two companies have expressed confidence that the merger will go ahead.
The planned merger - which will grant Disney the rights to Marvel's extensive catalogue of characters - was announced in August.
It remains uncertain what effects the merger will have on Marvel's work.
