Users can install the programme by downloading the latest firmware update (6.20). It is located under the Extras menu on the XMD.
Publishers such as Marvel, Disney, IDW and Rebellion have signed up to release their books on the platform, offering diverse titles including Spider-Man, X-Men, Mickey Mouse, Transformers, Star Trek and 2000AD.
The reader is equipped with an Autoflow Viewer, which guides them from panel to panel. "It's so intuitive, you feel as if you are holding and reading the actual book," wrote PlayStation Store manager Grace Chen.
"There's also a built-in music player so you can listen to the music on your PSP while reading the digital comics."
Digital Comics is now available to download for the PlayStation Portable.
