Comic scribe Judd Winick is reportedly working on a Batman animated feature film for Warner Bros.

According to Mania, the writer is adapting Batman: Under The Hood, which he originally penned for DC Comics in collaboration with artists Doug Mahnke and Paul Lee.

The comic book saw the return of former Robin Jason Todd, under the guise of the Red Hood. Returning to Gotham to avenge his death at the hands of the Joker, the character eventually comes to blows with Batman. Major DC characters, including Nightwing, Green Arrow and Zatanna made cameo appearances in the series.

Under The Hood will be the first animated feature to focus on the Caped Crusader in a solo role since 2008's Batman: Gotham Knight. A voice cast for the project is yet to be announced.

Batman: Under The Hood is slated for release next summer.
