According to executive editor Dan Didio, the 26-part series will debut in April with an issue #0. Geoff Johns and Peter Tomasi are on board as writers.
"I'm happy to announce that for the DCU, after the Blackest Night will come a Brightest Day this April. A bi-weekly, 26-issue series, kicking off with Brightest Day #0. We have a number of wonderful artists slated to contribute to the book, which we'll be announcing soon."
Its title is derived from the Green Lantern oath, which begins: "In brightest day, in blackest night." The event is expected to encompass a range of DC Universe titles, most prominently Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps.
Didio also revealed that the new ongoing Flash series will tie in with the plotline. "We'll be launching the new Flash ongoing series, by Geoff and Francis Manapul in April with a Brightest Day banner, and there will be several more titles utilising it come May and June," he added.
Justice Society of America artist Fernando Pasarin will pencil Brightest Day #0. Illustrators for the rest of the series are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Blackest Night will conclude in March, ahead of the launch of Brightest Day the following month.
