Penned by screenwriter Scott Milam, the book tells the story of an undercover agent who witnesses his family's murder at the hands of a criminal organisation who then leave him for dead.
Following a rescue by Special Forces, the protagonist is brought back from the brink and equipped with alien technology. After refusing to work for the organisation, he embarks on a revenge mission.
Arcana CEO Sean O'Reilly said: "Working with Scott has been incredible and it's simply fascinating to see what his mind comes up with."
Featuring artwork by newcomer Kenneth Loh, the title has been billed as an ongoing series of graphic novels.
Milam has previously worked in film and television, having written the upcoming cinematic offering Mother's Day, starring Jamie King and Rebecca De Mornay. He is also adapting Dark Horse's The Secret for Universal producer Scott Stuber.
Killing Machine is Milam's first comic book venture.
