Following the indie title's successful debut at Free Comic Book Day in 2009, the publisher has announced that its second volume will be previewed at the event this year. A third volume is also in the works.
"The book was a huge hit for us relatively speaking. We always felt like if people gave it a chance that they would get on board, but there was of course the fear that it would go unnoticed," said publisher Michael DeVito.
"Retailers and fans came out and showed us a ton of support, which is how the book became such a success. As soon as issue #1 went to a second printing, we knew we were going to be able to take this series down the original path that we intended with multiple volumes."
Written by Mike Raicht and Brian Smith, The Stuff Of Legend takes place during World War II and follows a group of animated toys as they embark on a mission to rescue their young master from the Boogeyman. Artwork on the series was provided by newcomer Charles Paul Wilson III.
Th3rd World has also revealed that the first volume of the comic will be issued in trade paperback by Random House in April. Volume two will be solicited in April Previews and released bi-monthly from June.
