The first character in the now familiar "I am a..." format teasers is Veil.
The image is accompanied by the words, "I know my powers will kill me...if I live that long".
The Veil character originally appeared in 1991. A character bearing the same codename has recently surfaced, but it is yet to be revealed if it is the same Veil as the original.
Avengers Academy - written by Christos Gage (Absolution) and illustrated by Mike McKone (Fantastic Four) - will replace Gage's Avengers: Initiative after that title concludes following Marvel's 'Siege' event.
