Fantagraphics Books has announced a deal with a Japanese publisher to launch a new manga line.

The Comics Journal's Dirk Deppey revealed the agreement between Fantagraphics and Shogakukan on his blog.

The deal - which Deppey claimed had been four years in the making - will see Matt Thorn editing and translating the comics.

The line will launch in September with a collection of stories by Moto Hagio, the legendary artist and pioneer of modern shojo manga.
