The heirs of Jack Kirby have filed a lawsuit against Marvel Comics over rights for his work.

The estate is seeking rights to Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Ant-Man, X-Men, Hulk, the Avengers, Thor, Nick Fury, Spider-Man, Journey into Mystery, Rawhide Kid, Strange Tales, Tales of Suspense, Amazing Adventures and Tales to Astonish, reports ICv2.

The suit also requests the return of original Kirby artwork retained by Marvel, and accuses Marvel of violating the Langham Act by not crediting Kirby on the Incredible Hulk and X-Men Origins: Wolverine films.

The rights battle was initiated last year when the Kirby estate sent copyright termination notices to Marvel.

In January, Marvel responded with its own lawsuit.
