Speaking to CBR, the Madame Xanadu writer promised that he has plans to revive the character, who first appeared in 1984.
"As I said, I've always got my own titles to which I can return," he said.
"Let me just say that I think the time when I feel the need to return to the world of Mage is getting closer and closer!"
Mage follows the story of Kevin Matchstick, a young man who receives magical powers and Excalibur in the form of an enchanted baseball bat.
