DC Comics has announced that J. Michael Straczynski will pen an original graphic novel titled Samaritan X.

Set in the titular Gotham hospital, the book is expected to feature various heroes and villains from the publisher's universe, and could spawn an ongoing series.

"Starting with a graphic novel and a potential regular monthly series thereafter, the book is about the Samaritan X Hospital, based in Gotham, which specializes in individuals with super-powers," Straczynski told CBR

"At its core, it’s a human drama set against the backdrop of superhuman characters from the DC Universe, where the skills of ordinary men and women may mean life or death for the strongest among us."

DC previously revealed that Straczynski will shoulder writing duties on its Superman and Wonder Woman titles.

An artist and a release date for Samaritan X is yet to be announced.
