According to Comics Continuum, the two firms are to collaborate on a feature-length cartoon based on the origin of the Green Lantern Corps.
Judging by the rumoured time-frame of the animation, popular Green Lanterns Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner may not feature in the story.
Comic writer Geoff Johns has previously hinted at the possibility of a Green Lantern animated series, but the feature-length venture in question is thought to be a separate project.
DC and Warners covered the origin of the Hal Jordan incarnation of the superhero with last year's direct-to-DVD Green Lantern: First Flight. The release was met with a favourable reception.
A cinematic adaptation of the comic book is currently in the works helmed by Martin Campbell. The film is slated for release on February 26, 2011.
