Sales and licensing co-ordinator Joe Keatinge and chief operating officer Robert Kirkman spoke about methods of attracting new readers at the ComicsPRO annual members meeting, reports Nerdage.
Kirkman said that there will be incentives announced to tie-in to The Walking Dead television series, along with extensive promotion at San Diego's Comic-Con International this July.
"We have a huge opportunity here, potentially, to create longtime comics fans," said Keatinge.
Keatinge said that Image's work with the ComicsPRO trade organisation has produced some of the publisher's most successful launches in recent years, including last year's surprise hit Chew.
Keatinge highlighted Jonathan Ross's forthcoming series Turf.
He said of the "comic-book obsessed" Ross that "he is in comics for the long haul".
