According to the publisher's The Source blog, Eisner Award-nominated artist J.H. Williams III will helm the project.
The illustrator will also co-write the book with W. Haden Blackman, who is best known for his work penning Star Wars video games.
Williams told CBR: "I'm going to be handling the writing duties, which was not something that I considered until the proposition was put before me and I just kind of felt like, 'OK, if anyone can do the character any justice, it would be me'."
Created by fan-favourite writer Greg Rucka, Batwoman was first introduced on the pages of 52 in 2006. The character later became a media sensation when she was outed as one of DC's first openly-gay superheroes.
Batwoman #1 arrives in stores in July.
