Minnesota parent files 'Bone' complaint

A Minnesota mother has filed a formal complaint against Jeff Smith's independent comic series Bone.
According to the Minnesota Local News, Ramona DeLay of Minneapolis-St Paul condemned the book's depiction of drinking, smoking and gambling, and took action after finding her son with a copy of its fourth volume.
"Although it is a graphic novel that appeals to all ages, if looked at closer, the content and graphics used are not appropriate for younger aged children," read the complaint, made to the local school district.
DeLay also suggested that the book be "withdrawn from all students".
The district's Reconsideration Review Committee will meet later this month to consider the request.
