The pulp noir book will feature art by Tony Harris, whose Ex Machina series is soon to conclude, it was revealed at Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo's WildStorm editorial panel.
Set in the 1940s London, the comic details the adventures of the current bearer of the Whistling Skull title, which is passed down through the ages and requires the holder to battle a terrible evil.
The title will be penned by Hawaiian Dick writer B Clay Moore.
"This book has been in the works for over two years, so I'm jazzed to start getting the word out," Moore wrote on his blog.
"You can bet I'll be talking this bastard up a lot before it drops. Creator-owned, introducing a brand new character that Tony and I would like to run with for a long time."
Ex Machina will end in July, with The Whistling Skull following some time afterwards.
