Horror author opposes Dark Horse project

The publisher recently acquired the rights to release tie-in material for Hammer Films movie adaptation Let Me In and has since announced plans to draw upon the book for ideas.
"The novel is massive, rich with backstory and subtlety that didn’t make it even to the very subtle and beautiful Swedish film. So we want to expand upon the world of the Swedish film by drawing upon the material from the novel," Dark Horse stated.
However, Lindqvist has claimed that the firm did not seek permission to use aspects of his work and is considering taking action against them.
"Nobody has asked me about this and I think that the project stinks. I am looking into this matter and hope that they have no right to do this," he told the Swedish Metro newspaper.
The novelist went on to say that he has already written his own prequel to the book and is planning to submit it for publication in the future.
Dark Horse is yet to comment on the matter.
