Channel 4 has launched an educational graphic novel titled Alien Ink via the internet.

Described as a comic book version of Skins, the project features manga-style illustrations and animation.

Set in Camden, London, the storyline revolves around two youths named Trinity and Ryder, whose arrival on the scene coincides with unexplained UFO sightings. The pair open a tattoo parlour named Alien Ink, which quickly becomes the hub for local teenagers to gather and a hotspot for drama.

The broadcaster is encouraging readers to get involved in the story through social networking sites.

Published in seven issues comprising a total of 30 episodes, Alien Ink will be released weekly and run for 30 weeks.

The first episode is now available at alienink.co.uk.
