The Dark Horse comic, which is set more than a century after Return of the Jedi, recently entered its final arc.
"I'm like a lot of the fans - I don't want it to end," veteran writer Ostrander told CBR.
"It's been a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. When you're having fun, you don't want it to quit. However, all things have an ending and this one is ours."
"Although I know it is the nature of comics that series must end, I feel there was not enough time to tell all the stories I wanted to tell or draw all the pictures I wanted to draw for Legacy," added artist Duursema.
"But then, I always feel like there is never enough time."
Star Wars: Legacy #49, the second issue in the final arc, will be released on June 30.
The final issue, #50, is out in July.
