According to Comics Continuum, the actor has already recorded voice work for the 'Emerald Archer' but details of the project's release are yet to emerge.
Written by Greg Weisman, the cartoon is expected to be carried by a feature-length Warner Home Video release like previous shorts based on the Spectre and Jonah Hex.
It was previously reported that McDonough has signed on to play Dum Dum Dugan in Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger, although the studio is still to officially confirm the casting.
The actor has also provided the voice for Bruce Banner in UPN's The Incredible Hulk cartoon series.
