comiXology releases BOOM! Studios app
Published Tuesday, Jun 15 2010, 05:50 BST | By Mark Langshaw

Available for iPhone, IPad and iPod Touch, the app launches with over 50 titles available, and will soon include the publisher's back catalogue as well as new issues as they arrive.
"While comic-based movies are thriving on the big screen, the reality is most fans have never been exposed to comic books as a medium unto themselves," said comiXology CEO David Steinberger.
"Digital comics give us the opportunity to reach a broader audience and inspire them to connect with the comics community through titles they're already passionate about."
Launch titles for the BOOM! app include comics based on 28 Days Later, Die Hard and Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep, in addition to original titles Irredeemable, Incorruptible and The Unknown.
comiXology is a market leader in the digital sector, having found success with its Comics App and Marvel Comics App for Apple Devices.
