Written by Robert Kirkman and drawn by Image founders McFarlane, Erik Larsen, Rob Liefeld, Whilce Portacio, Marc Silvestri and Jim Valentino, the six-part miniseries has not seen a new issue since December.
In an interview with CBR, the Spawn creator shouldered full responsibility for the delays on issue #3. "It's completely my fault and nobody else's," he told the website. "I warned everybody in advance that I've got a complicated life, so be careful what you're wishing for."
McFarlane explained that the postponed issue will still go ahead as planned, assuring fans that he is completing his portion of the series in addition to work on Spawn #198, #199 and Haunt #8.
A new release date for Image United #3 is yet to be announced.
