Quinto, McMillian working on comic book

Television stars Zachary Quinto and Michael McMillian are working on a comic project titled Lucid, CBR reports.

Published by Archaia Comics, Quinto's Before The Door Pictures will oversee the book's production and McMillian will handle writing duties.

The four-issue miniseries combines themes of magic, espionage and politics. It will be illustrated by 19-year-old newcomer Anna Wieszczyk.

"It's a rock 'n' roll book, and I think for me part of it is taking these elements of magic and this concept of fantasy, which I think a lot of times gets a bad rap on one hand, and really make it fun and sexy and cool and contemporary," McMillian said during a conference call.

"It's different in the sense that I do call these characters Combat Mages, which is a challenge in and of itself. That's a term I think gets knocked on, but I think it's cool and we're really going to make it exciting.

Quinto is best known for his roles as the villainous Sylar and the iconic Spock in Heroes and Star Trek respectively. McMillian stars as Steve Newlin in HBO's True Blood.

Lucid #1 arrives in stores in August.
