Namor the Sub-Mariner begins his own new ongoing series by Marvel Comics this August.
The character is one of the oldest still appearing in Marvel's publications, having first featured in 1939.
Namor: The First Mutant will showcase Namor as both monarch of the Atlanteans and as a member of the X-Men.
The first story arc will spin out of Victor Gischler's new ongoing series X-Men with the vampire plot currently running in that series as Namor encounters Atlantean Vampires of his own.
Written by Stuart Moore and pencilled by Ariel Olivetti, Namor: The First Mutant #1 is on sale August 25.
