DC Comics has announced that Marc Guggenheim will take over as the new writer for Justice Society of America this autumn.

DC's The Source reports that while the new artist is yet to be confirmed, Shane Davis will be providing covers for the run.

"One of the advantages of working for 'the big two' is getting to play with the biggest toys in the sandbox," explained Guggenheim. "Justice Society so fits that category, my inner fanboy is squealing with delight."

According to CBR, some of Guggenheim's main featured characters in his run on the series will include The Flash, Green Lantern and Wildcat.

His first issue as writer will be Justice Society of America #44 in October.
