The winners have been announced for the 2010 Ignatz Awards.
The awards recognise outstanding achievement in comics and cartooning. The recipients took their prizes at the Small Press Expo in Bethesda, Maryland.
Eddie Campbell (Alec: The Years Have Pants) was named 'Outstanding Artist' and Matt Wiegle (The Orphan Baiter) was awarded the 'Promising New Talent' prize.
'Outstanding Anthology or Collection' went to R. Sikoryak's Masterpiece Comics. James Sturm's Market Day was named 'Outstanding Graphic Novel'.
The awards are named after a character in George Herriman’s classic comic strip Krazy Kat.
