ICv2 reports that the company will launch the service through its members website, which already sells a number of Square Enix-related merchandise.
The company is most widely recognised for its highly successful roleplaying video game franchises, which include the likes of the Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Kingdom Hearts series.
However, it also have a strong print publishing arm in the form of popular manga imprint Gangan, which publishes a number of successful mangas in Japan including Full Metal Alchemist and Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit.
Anime News Network recently reported that Square Enix has developed an iPhone application for its Gangan titles, but it is uncertain whether there are plans to release this outside of Japan.
Square Enix has not yet announced which titles will be released first once the e-manga service launches.
