Marvel recently announced that the two writers, referred to as 'DnA', will helm the new ongoing series which launches following current Daredevil event Shadowland.
The series marks a departure for the duo, who have worked almost exclusively on Marvel Comics' cosmic range of titles like Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy for the past few years.
"Marvel is giving us a chance to stretch our legs a bit, and we're enjoying the chance to tackle different type of stories and subjects," Abnett and Lanning explained to Newsarama. "With Heroes we're really going for the opposite end of the spectrum - street level action."
The new series will feature of rotating cast of characters including the likes of Misty Knight, Paladin, Iron Fist, Elektra, and Ghost Rider.
"This is a series about assigning the right characters for the right missions," they clarified.
Abnett and Lanning also confirmed rumours that Black Widow will appear in the book, and suggested that original Hero for Hire Luke Cage is likely to appear at some point.
Heroes for Hire #1 will be published in December.
