Posting on his blog, the scribe confirmed that he has completed the first issue of the supernatural comic. An artist for the series is yet to be announced.
"Xombi came straight from my DNA and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to return to the story of David Kim," he wrote. "This is an absolute dream come true for me."
Xombi originally ran for 22 issues in the 1990s. Written by Rozum, the storyline follows a medical researcher whose supernatural wounds are healed by nanomachines rendering him immortal.
The title character was reintroduced into the DC Universe in last year's Brave & The Bold #26.
An official release date for the series reboot is still to be unveiled.
