'Green Hornet' specials for December

Dynamite are to release a large number of Green Hornet issues in December ahead of the upcoming film adaptation's release date.

December will see the publication of regular monthly titles Green Hornet #10 by Phil Hester and Green Hornet Year One #9 by Mat Wagner.

Alongside these releases will be Kevin Smith's Kato #9 written by Ande Parks, which sees the new female Kato recovering from battle and will also tie in with Kevin Smith's main Green Hornet series.

Kevin Smith's Kato Annual #1 will tell a standalone story by Parks in which Kato must face off against a classic Japanese giant monster.

Also announced is a hardcover edition of Kevin Smith's Green Hornet Vol. 2: Wearing o' the Green which collects the second arc of Kevin Smith's alternate vision for the character, and Kato Origins Vol 1: Way of the Ninja in trade paperback which collects the first five issues of the spinoff title.

Michael Gondry's upcoming film adaptation of the character features Knocked Up star Seth Rogen as the Green Hornet with Jay Chou portraying his sidekick Kato.

The Green Hornet will be released in cinemas January 14, 2011.
