Writer Nick Spencer has revealed details of Marvel's upcoming Iron Man 2.0 series.
Penned by Spencer and illustrated by Barry Kitson, the title sees War Machine James Rhodes take centre stage.
Speaking to Newsarama, the scribe said that the character's appearance in the Iron Man movies will help boost sales of the comic.
"The bottom line is, now I'm working on a character that’s on the Blu-ray cover of one of the biggest movies of the year," he told the website. "It's not a character that's going to be a hard sell in the market anymore. For me, it's never really been much of a concern."
The book's storyline deals with the changing face of warfare and forces Rhodes to re-evaluate his methods as a superhero. "Rhodey, who's always been defined as this guy who brings the biggest gun to a knife fight, is suddenly going to be dealing with something very different," Spencer added.
"How do you deal with an enemy that you can't simply point a gun at, and you can't simply punch? It's going to throw him for a loop at first. He's going to have to learn how to change, learn how to adapt, and learn how to improvise in ways he never had to before."
Iron Man 2.0 kicks off in 2011. A prelude to the story will appear in Invincible Iron Man #500 in January.
