Azzarello and Risso originally worked together on the critically acclaimed series 100 Bullets, which finished its 100-issue run last year.
Bleeding Cool claims that the new series will effectively have the same creative team as 100 Bullets, with both editor Will Dennis and covers artist Dave Johnson on board for the project.
Titled Spaceman, the new series is being described as 'speculative fiction' and will be similar in tone to the Ridley Scott movie Blade Runner.
The series will initially consist of nine issues and is set to launch next year.
