Rick Remender is writing the relaunched series focusing on a new team consisting of former members Wolverine and Archangel, as well as new additions Psylocke, Fantomex and Deadpool.
"I wanted to make sure we had something very unique when we were cooking it up," Remender told Newsarama of the series. "I re-read Grant Morrison's run and I really want to invoke that same spirit of big set pieces and imagination, as well as consequences for your actions."
Uncanny X-Force follows a new black ops team led by Wolverine whose mission is to kill the enemies of the X-Men without their teammates' knowledge.
The first issue saw the team faced with the ethical dilemma of whether to kill their old nemesis Apocalypse following his resurrection as a young child.
"It's an X-Men book about a family unit tied together by a crazy big secret," Remender explained to sum up the series.
Uncanny X-Force #1 will be published November 17.
