Hermes Press has announced the collection of Milton Caniff's Male Call.

The strips from the 1940s have been unavailable for almost 30 years, reports ICv2.

The humourous and risqué comic featured Caniff's creation Miss Lace, and was published exclusively in military publications during World War II.

The collection will include an introductory essay by critic and cartoonist R.C. Harvey and a series of previously unpublished strips.

Milton Caniff's Male Call The Complete Newspaper Strips: 1942-1946 will be released in May 2011.
