Leaving his post as publicity manager at DC Comics, Segura will oversee the publisher's press, PR and social media campaigns.
"We're thrilled to have someone with Alex's experience and ideas come on board," said Archie CEO Jon Goldwater. "It's an exciting time for the company and we look forward to spreading the word about our books and characters with Alex's help."
Segura added: "My first comic book was a copy of Betty And Veronica Double Digest, so coming to Archie is in many ways a homecoming.
"I'm energised, honoured and very much looking forward to working with Jon and the gang on how best to promote the great collection of characters and stories Archie has to offer."
Archie Comics is one of the longest-serving publishers in the industry, first appearing on the scene as MLJ Comics in 1939.
