'39 Minutes' named 'Pilot Season' winner

The crime title is to become a full series after fending off competition from Forever, Crosshair, The Asset and 7 Days From Hell.
Written by William Harms and illustrated by Jerry Lando, 39 Minutes follows an ex-military leader who is released from prison to take down a group of his former soldiers that have turned to bank robbery.
"The funny thing is that I was originally going to write a completely different book for 'Pilot Season'," Harms told Newsarama.
"At the last minute, I emailed Filip [Sablik] and Matt [Hawkins] with the 39 Minutes pitch just to see if it'd be something they'd want to publish down the road, and Matt said he liked 39 Minutes better. So that's how it ended up in the lineup."
Launched in 2007, 'Pilot Season' is an annual scheme that enables readers to vote in the future of six Top Cow one-shots.
The 39 Minutes series will debut in 2011.
