The likenesses of Simon Cowell and Jennifer Lopez are to appear in an upcoming issue of Archie, the Los Angeles Times reports.
According to Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwater, the pair will square off against one another as The X Factor and American Idol hold auditions in the fictional town of Riverdale.
"Simon Cowell and Jennifer Lopez face off in Riverdale, as X Factor and American Idol hold open auditions and compete against each other to collect the best and brightest musical talents from the town - including the Archies, Josie and the Pussycats and more," said Goldwater.
"This one has it all - celebrities, comedy, music and plenty of surprises. Who better to become the next musical reality hit than the Archies?"
The storyline is to appear in issue #623 of the iconic title, which is written by Dan Parent and illustrated by Bill Galvan.
Archie has featured political figures Barack Obama and Sarah Palin in recent issues, as well as spoofed the television shows Glee and Jersey Shore.
Archie #623 arrives in stores in July.
