Kieron Gillen goes solo on 'Uncanny'

Marvel Comics has announced that Kieron Gillen is to become the sole writer on Uncanny X-Men.
The British writer became co-scribe on the series alongside Matt Fraction last year as the story tied into his newly-launched Generation Hope series.
Gillen will go solo on the title from issue #534.1, part of Marvel's Point One initiative designed as a jumping-on point for new readers.
"When I joined Matt [Fraction] on Uncanny, I believe I said I couldn't be any more excited. I've been proved a shameful liar," said Gillen.
"I'm even more excited now. When I look at what we've got planned, and knowing that I'm going to be writing it, I just lean back in my chair and cackle until my fiancée starts worrying about me."
April will see the release of Uncanny X-Men #534.1, illustrated by Carlos Pacheco, and the launch of a new arc in issues #535 and #536 - featuring art by Terry Dodson and the return of the inhabitants of Breakworld.
