According to Newsarama, no record of the firm's operations for last year can be found, despite publishers using its approval stamp during this period.
Last week, both DC Comics and Archie Comics announced that they would no longer be running the firm's seal on its covers. However, it was later revealed that Archie had not submitted its titles for approval.
"We haven't submitted for a year or more," said Archie president Mike Pellerito. When asked whether he believes that the Comics Code Authority is still functioning, he added: "I don't think they are."
The demise of the Comics Code Authority's rating system is yet to be officially confirmed.
