Dynamite Entertainment and Bantam Books have announced a comic book adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire.
The publishers have acquired the rights to produce a graphic novel based on George R.R. Martin's classic fantasy novel.
Daniel Abraham (The Long Price Quartet) is writing the adaptation alongside artist Tommy Patterson (Farscape).
"With so much top-rank talent to pick from, it was a tough choice, but Daniel and I and our editors at Bantam and Dynamite were all knocked out by the character sketches and sample pages that Tommy submitted," wrote Martin about Patterson on his blog.
Abraham previously adapted Martin's Fevre Dream into a comic and The Hard Call - a miniseries set in the shared 'Wild Cards' universe of which Martin was the primary editor.
A Song of Ice and Fire will debut in the spring.
