Written by veteran game designer Warren Spector and illustrated by Disney artist Miquel Pujol, the title follows the adventures of Uncle Scrooge and his nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie.
Like the publisher's other Disney collaborations Darkwing Duck and Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, DuckTales was originally an animated show that aired throughout the late '80s and early '90s.
"You want ducks? Oh, do we have ducks," said BOOM! marketing director Chip Mosher. "We're taking you back to one of the most celebrated Disney Afternoon series ever aired.
"With a creative powerhouse like Warren Spector and fantastic art from Miquel Pujol, this series is sure to be jam-packed with duck adventures no DuckTales fans will want to miss."
It was previously reported that BOOM! has lost its Pixar license to Disney subsidiary Marvel, who recently unveiled the Disney•Pixar Presents magazine. However, the firm retained the rights to Mickey Mouse and other classic characters.
DuckTales #1 ships in May.
