Marvel announces new Spider-Man event

Marvel Comics has announced the first details about this summer's special Spider-Man event.
April sees the beginning of 'Infested', a series of short stories launching in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #659 that will serve as a lead-in to the newly announced Spider Island event.
"Infested is giving readers the first adumbrations of a threat that's been slowly creeping toward Spidey's life for decades," Marvel Comics Senior Editor Stephen Wacker explained. Dan [Slott] along with some guest artists set the readers on a dangerous course that leads right to Amazing Spider-Man #666 and beyond!"
Among the guest artists currently announced for the Infested back-up stories are Barry Kitson, Lee Garbett, and Emma Rios.
Further details about the plot or characters involved in Spider Island have yet to be announced.
Amazing Spider-Man #659 is scheduled for publication on April 27.
