Taymor departs 'Spider-Man' musical?

Reports have surfaced that the Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark director has resigned.

According to NY1, Julie Taymor has left the beleaguered Broadway musical.

The source also said that the show is to be shut down for a short time to implement new changes.

The New York Times yesterday revealed that Taymor's departure was a possibility.

She was responsible for co-writing the musical with U2's Bono and The Edge.
