'Turn Off the Dark' changes detailed

Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark
Changes facing the troubled Spider-Man musical have been revealed.

The opening date for Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark will be delayed for the sixth time - now scheduled for early summer rather than March 15 - to allow a sweeping overhaul of the plot, reports Robot 6.

The changes are to be implemented following the departure of director Julie Taymor.

These include a strengthening of the love story between Peter Parker and Mary Jane, a clarifying of the Green Goblin's role in the play, the loss of the unpopular 'Deeply Furious' number and a reduction in the appearances of Arachne, the eight-legged villain created by Taymor.

The new director has been announced as Philip William McKinley (The Boy From Oz).
