The series has been produced by Marvel Knights Animation and is being released across a number of online platforms, including iTunes, Xbox LIVE and the Playstation Network in the lead up to Kenneth Branagh's Marvel Studios film Thor.
"It's been an incredible experience developing and producing Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers," said producer Ruwan Jayatilleke. "What we've put together as a team will further define and push the boundaries of what Marvel Knights Animation can be as well as entertain comic book enthusiasts and mainstream fans with a very compelling piece of content."
Both the graphic novel and the new animation explore the complicated relationship between Thor and his devious half-brother Loki, delving into why there is such animosity between the two Asgardian gods.
Jayatilleke praised Rodi and Ribic's original graphic novel, and admitted that that the series would not have been possible if the source material hadn't been so adaptable to different mediums.
Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers launches on March 28.
