Marvel Comics has unveiled the creative team for a new ongoing series featuring Ghost Rider.

Beginning in June with a special 'Point One' issue, Ghost Rider will be scripted by Daken: Dark Wolverine writer Rob Williams with pencils from Marvel-exclusive artist Matthew Clark.

Announced during this year's C2E2 convention, the series will launch by tying into the upcoming Fear Itself event, using the storyline as a background to reintroduce the character.

"Johnny Blaze is still going to be a central character in this series," Williams confirmed to Newsarama. "But part of our hook is Johnny being given a Faustian pact - he can rid himself of the curse of the Ghost Rider forever if he's willing to pass it onto someone completely anonymous to him."

The writer also confirmed that former Ghost Rider ally, and occasional antagonist, Danny Ketch will be showing up in the series at various points.

"Danny's in our plans," Williams revealed. "He's not an initial point of focus but he's out there."

The last Ghost Rider series was written by Jason Aaron but ended back in 2009. The character has since appeared sporadically in titles such as last year's Shadowland event.

A new film featuring the character called Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is currently in production for a release in 2012.

Ghost Rider #0.1 will be published in June.
